Christa De Carouge Oversized Raincoat Outside: Waterproof Microfiber Interior: Resistant Silk One Size Fits All, Unisex Double Zip. Christa De Carouge, Often Referred To As "the Lady In Black," Was A True Artisan, Renowned For Her State-Of-The-Art And Almost Philosophical Designs. Her Distinctive Creations, Encapsulating Her Life's Ethos, Were Grounded In Four Key Principles: Modernism, Minimalism, Nomadism, And Spiritualism. These Principles Guided Her Approach To Textiles, Enabling Her To Transcend Fleeting Trends In The World Of Fashion. Born In 1936 In Basel, Switzerland, She Started Her Career As A Graphic Designer In Zürich The Country's Primary Economic Hub, Before Becoming A Fashion Designer In 1965. Her Work Is Deeply Linked With The Three Habitats Of Men: Our Houses, Our Clothes, And Our Skin. We Create The Two First Ones And Nature Gives Us The Last One. While We Can’T Choose Our Skin, Clothes And Homes Are Made To Fit Our Desires And Needs. Houses – Or Architecture As A Concept – Study The Position And Forms In Space. Christa De Carouge, A Known Fan Of "le Corbusier", Was Inspired By How The Structure Meets With The Texture In Architecture. She Approached Textiles The Same Way By Considering The Space Between The Body And The Material’S Choice, While Keeping In Mind It Needed To Adjust To The Body, Not The Opposite. This Focus Led To Garments That Could Be Worn By Anyone, Regardless Of Their Body Type And Age. She Worked To Find The Essence Of Things Without Forgetting That Details Are As Important As The Entire Product. The Most Insignificant Particularities Still Contain The Whole. This Essentialism Embodies Her Modernism And Minimalism Mojo. By Questioning What’S Necessary And Assessing The World How It Truly Is, She Created Timeless Designs. Less Is Always More For Christa. This Approach, In Turn, Led Her To Find New Inspiration In Nomadism, One Of The Oldest And Most Unchanged Lifestyles In The World; Tuareg Or Bedouin Among Many Other Nomad People, Live Through Their Clothing Which Becomes Their Home (E.g. A Poncho, A Djellaba Or Even A Yurt, Made Out Of Textiles And Use To Protect A Nomad From Its Environment, But Also Representing Its Culture And History). Security And Freedom Become Essential When You Look At Life As It Truly Is. Some Of Her Creations Could Be Used As A Coat And Then Transformed Into Sheets, A Floor Bed Or A Pillow. A Form Of Wearable Home That Allows You To Adapt Anywhere At Any Time. Given The Need For Her Collections To Integrate Seamlessly Into All Aspects Of Life, Quality And Durability Were Paramount. Christa Offered Lifetime Repairs For Her Creations, A Testament To Her Devotion And Craftsmanship. Besides Nomadism, Asia, Particularly China And Japan, Served As A Huge Source Of Inspiration For Christa De Carouge. Her Japanese Counterparts, Issey Miyake And Yohji Yamamoto, Also Had A Similar Approach To Fashion; The Former Was Developing New Techniques By Questioning What Was Needed, While The Latter Was Searching For Humble Ways Of Expressing His Life’S Philosophies. Speaking Of Neutrality, Christa Found It Through Her Birthplace, Switzerland, But Also In The Likes Of The Color Black. Just Like Yohji Yamamoto, Christa Understood The Power Of This Color, Often Not Considered As One (Johann Wolfgang Goethe Didn’T Even Mention It In His Book – Theory Of Colors). Not Only Does It Represent A Form Of Elegance And Simplicity Both Designers Actively Searched For, But It Also Protects Its Wearer From The Outside, Almost Like A Spiritual Camouflage. Besides Asia And Bedouin, Christa Delved Into The Realms Of Dance Performances And Theater, Contributing To Productions Such As Shakespeare's "king Lear." These Artistic Endeavors Further Emphasized Her Focus On Movement (Freedom) And Meaning (Spirit). Christa De Carouge Sadly Passed Away In 2018 At The Age Of 81. Although She May Not Have Achieved Global Recognition, Christa Will Undoubtedly Be Remembered For Her Unique Worldview And The Exceptional Quality Of Her Meticulously Crafted Garments. In Her Clothes, You Feel Comfortable, You Feel Protected, You Feel At Home. Cheers | Designer Christa De Carouge Oversized Raincoat in Khaki, Men's (Size XL)
