Model: Twillon 193 Material: Silk Design: L'Art du Sarasa Colours: Orange, Bleu Vif and Multicoloured Designer: Aline Honoré Story Behind The Twillon: From the 16th century and throughout the Edo period, from the early 12th to the 19th century, Portuguese merchants imported Indian calicos into Japan. Geometric-shaped patterns in bright-colored cotton fabrics stand out from the hemp and indigo cotton of Japanese textiles, and the craze came quickly. Both used to wrap objects and to make kimonos, sarasas (a term derived from the Portuguese word for calicos) were soon produced by Japanese weavers. They took care to perpetuate its ornamental style by introducing their own inspiration over time. Aline Honoré created a sumptuous kimono made of a combination of motifs borrowed from these fabrics. A nod to the iconic Hermès Twilly, this beautiful, long and slim silk ribbon is cut from the season's scarves which means each one is unique for you. Printed on soft silk twill, this versatile accessory entices us to spend our summer nights dancing until dawn!
