1928 ROLEX Vintage Antique Mens Cabriolet Clock Watch - Sterling Silver Rare Rolex Cabriolet Clock Watch - Original Condition Today's offer features this rare and very interesting Rolex Cabriolet watch manufactured between the wars in 1928. In the 1920s, Rolex had shifted the majority of its production to wristwatches, however, they continued to manufacture a relatively small number of traditional pocket watches and very few other timepieces. The convertible clock presented in this offer is a model of this phenomenon. We are happy to offer it to you. It features a refined design from the European Art Deco period in both its case and dial. Functionally, its case has foldable parts so it can be displayed on a desk or placed on a table like a travel clock or even carried around like a handbag watch. It can also be used as a pendant hanging from a chain. His case is based on British Invention Patent No. 265,886, issued February 17, 1927, to Carl Friedrich Bosch, Pforzheim, Baden (Germany), for an ""Improvements in or relating to clocks""; also patented in Germany, Switzerland, the United States and France. It is decorated with thin Tuxedo stripes on the front and back as well as on both sides. In sterling silver and signed Rolex, it bears the Glasgow hallmarks of 1928. The watch is powered by its original movement signed Rolex. It remains in its original state. Its case is in excellent condition with fairly light to moderate wear and some loss of fine engraving detail. Its two-tone silver dial is also in excellent condition with a fairly mild aging. And its high quality movement is very clean. One of our master watchmakers, who was a watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and who received special training from Rolex at its Beverly Hills service center to become an authorized Rolex watchmaker, completely overhauled the watch, which involves completely disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a new mainspring, polishing the pivots, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (an $895 value). Surprisingly, after almost a century, it continues to keep very precise time. It comes with what appears to be its original 8.5 inch silver chain with an interesting terminal clip that is hallmarked. Note: This clock watch was previously sold by Antiquorum. Don't miss the chance to own this fascinating piece of Rolex history.
